An information board has been installed in the churchyard and is proving popular.
In the Cumbria in Bloom competition the Friends were awarded a silver cup in the Urban Community category.
Permission has been received to install a garden seat in memory of a deceased member.

We had a bad start to 2005 with the storms and floods, the worst for more than in 100 years writes Margaret Davie.
The floods themselves did not reach the churchyard but it was sodden and therefore trees were uprooted in the wet ground and branches broken off. The removal of these brought their own problems of having to use heavy machinery. This churned up the ground and we lost a lot of our plantings, so it is back to the drawing board for 2006. We did manage to maintain our entry into Cumbria in Bloom competition and gained another silver award.
Illness among our members also slowed down the development but hopefully with a new vicar now installed and an interpretation board ordered, we hope to go forward this year to better things.
