Friends of Woodside Cemetery

Essex County Council wish to put an Eco Art Hub in the depot land within Woodside Cemetery. They have offered £50.000 towards the proposed project. Castle Point Borough Council actually own this land but in 1998 they were going to use this land for a graffiti and skateboard park. Fortunately we were able to stop this and they went to alternative sites. We were promised the cemetery would never again be threatened in this way.

I am also organising a petition locally and I will, in the near future seek the help of the media, as I did in 1998.

We would appreciate any help in stopping the cemetery being used in this way. We are not against the Eco Art Hub, only its location.
