KING'S LYNN
Friends of Hardwick Road Cemetery
The group was launched in May 2006. Currently there are about 40
members. The cemetery was opened in 1846 as a non denominational
extension to one of Kings Lynn's churches and then came under the
control of Kings Lynn Burial Board in 1855. The cemetery covers some 20
acres and retains much of its arboretum layout but sadly the chapels
were demolished in the 1970's. The group has published the results of a
flora and wildlife survey undertaken in 2004 by members of the local
RSPB branch.
